National Brownfields Coalition
The National Brownfields Coalition is a non-partisan alliance of public, private, and nonprofit leaders advocating for federal policies and funding that support the sustainable, equitable cleanup and reuse of brownfield sites—vacant or underutilized land impacted by environmental contamination.
Everyone deserves to live in a healthy, resilient, and prosperous community. Yet across America’s rural, urban, and tribal areas, hundreds of thousands of brownfield sites remain dormant or underused—land that can be revitalized for community benefit.
Jointly managed by Smart Growth America and the Center for Creative Land Recycling, the Coalition brings together practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to drive systemic change. We educate, convene, and push for smart policy solutions that return land to productive use while protecting public and environmental health
